Children & Teen Class Descriptions

Kinderdance

Through the fun of dance, rhythm, and song, this beginner class introduces ballet, tap and tumbling while developing fundamental motor skills, spatial awareness, imagination and expression. There are 2 performance opportunities associated with this class as well as features in our full length ballet productions. Ages 3-4

Combination

Classes that teach introductory ballet, tap, and tumbling. As with the kinderdance classes, we strive to make the child feel special, building self-esteem and self-confidence. We inspire the love of dance by introducing ballet, tap movements, and musicality. Through tumbling we instill balance and coordination.There are 2 performance opportunities associated with this class as well as features in our full length ballet productions. Ages 5-6

Lyrical

An interpretive style of dance that expresses emotions and a storyline. This class encourages the body to flow with the rhythm and tone of the music. Our classes introduce and expand upon basic contemporary techniques with an emphasis on creative stylization. There are 2 performance opportunities associated with this class.
Beginner Ages 6-9
Intermediate Ages 9-12
Advanced Ages 12-18

Beginner Ballet – Junior Company Apprentice

The perfect class for the budding ballerina who wishes to expand their love of ballet in a structured environment. Dancers will learn basic ballet terminology, positions, and techniques as well as participate twice a year in our full length ballet productions. Our ballet classes prepare each dancer with discipline and grace. Ages 7-9

Intermediate Ballet – Junior Company

In this class dancers will develop the strength and elegance of a ballet dancer, while learning discipline, classroom etiquette, and furthering their love for ballet. Emphasis is placed on proper body alignment, execution of rotation, focus on pre-pointe technique, as well as application of port de bra. Dancers will also participate twice a year in our full length ballet productions. Our ballet classes prepare each dancer with discipline and grace. Ages 9-12

Advanced Ballet – Company

This class is designed for the pre-professional level dancer. Emphasis is placed on proper body alignment, execution of rotation, as well as application of port de bra and stylization. This technique intensive program focuses on pointe technique as well as classical and contemporary variations and repertoire culminating in our full length ballet productions twice a year. Our ballet classes prepare each dancer with discipline and grace. Ages 12-18

Pre-Pointe Technique

This class prepares our intermediate ballerinas for dancing en pointe. Exercises focused on ankle and knee strength and stability, pelvic alignment and core strength. Dancers are required to take this class for a minimum of 2 years before pointe evaluations. Ages 9-12

Pointe Technique

This class is designed for the pre-professional level dancer. Emphasis is placed on proper body alignment, execution of rotation, as well as application of port de bra and stylization. This technique intensive program focuses on pointe technique as well as classical and contemporary variations and repertoire culminating in our full length ballet productions twice a year. Our ballet classes prepare each dancer with discipline and grace. Ages 12-18

Tap

This tap class helps unlock your inner Fred Astaire, by providing proper tap technique, mastering rhythm, musicality and tempo of the music. Class curriculum will include a tap warm up and move into complex progressions and rhythmic combinations. There are 2 performance opportunities associated with this class. Ages 7-12

Hip Hop

Techniques and stylization of Hip Hop dance to their favorite songs in an age appropriate manner. Teaching proper conditioning and warm-up, individualized isolated body movements, and high-energy combinations. There are 2 performance opportunities associated with this class. Ages 7-12

Tuition & Dress Code

45 min – One hour – $65 a month

Two hours – $130 a month

Three hours – $160 a month

Four hours – $170 a month

Five hours – $180 a month

Six Hours- $190 a month

 

 

Proper class attire is required for children &

teen dancers. No jeans or dresses.

 

Ballet Girls: Leotard, pale pink or skin tone

transition tights, pink or skin tone ballet

slippers. All hair must be pulled back away

from the face and up in a bun. Tight shorts or

skirts are optional.

 

Ballet Boys: Plain white tee shirt, Black pants

and black ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled

back away from the face.

 

Tap & Contemporary/Lryical: Comfortable,

fitted athletic attire.

 

Adult Class Descriptions

Adult Ballet Technique

Perfect for new ballet dancers with very little to no experience. Learn about the technique and foundation of Ballet, terminology, alignment, and placement of the body for a safe and efficient way of training. 

Adult Beginner Ballet

We recommend some experience in ballet or any dance techniques. This class is great for dancers that are welcoming Ballet or dance back! Starting at the barre with a thorough warm up, followed by stretch/strengthening, and concluding the class with across the floor turns and center jumps! 

Adult Repertoire

No barre! Warm up will be a guided improv. We will then follow improv with either a classical ballet variation, an original classical ballet variation, and/or contemporary ballet choreography. Experience is needed for this class. 

Adult Beg/Inter Ballet

Experience is necessary but modifications of the exercises are provided! This class is focused on more performance skills and feeling like we are really dancing!! A fun, freeing Saturday class 

Adult Beg/Inter Ballet Pointe

This class needs instructor approval. Class can be taken en pointe or flat. This class will focus on strengthening, technique, and placement/alignment for safe training. 

 

Dress code for Adults is comfortable and/or athletic attire with ballet shoes.
